Day 3: 12/31/10

Happy New Year! The water is even higher after the rain we got and is chocolate brown in color. No snorkeling again. Instead, today we wen on a long hike through the jungle. I saw some neat stuff.

Rio Puerto Viejo

These Tree Roots Acted Like Steps On The Trail

I don’t know what this plant is, but it looked cool.

Rio Salto

We Later went to the swamp at La Selva. It was relatively dry and we didn’t see much. Right outside the swamp we saw a Rain Frog and a Cane Toad. Cane Toads are native to Costa Rica, but an invasive species in many countries.
