Day 6: 1/3/11

Hit the Rio San Jose today. It was very fast flowing, but clear. It was freezing to, about 70 degrees! After a few hours in the water I was shivering. Even the fish looked cold. There were lots of fish in the river, but few were breeding. There were a handful of septemfasciatus and Neets that had fry. I saw Astatheros alfari and Tomocichla tuba as well. There were some huge Neets in the river with males pushing 7-8 inches! When we got back to the field station it was hot coco time as we tried to warm up.
